Here are your top health tips for the month of March!

1. Have Fun! Do things that bring you joy and laughter as it can create better physical, emotional and mental health for you. If you are not brought joy by whatever it is you are doing in your life, then find something that will bring you joy!

2. Take A moment of silence before you eat your meals. Be thankful for what you have. This will prepare your body to accept the nutritious food you are about to eat. Can you say……Attitude of gratitude?? Think this doesn’t work, try it for a week and see how much better you feel. Too often we just cram the food down without even being grateful for what we have. You don’t have to pray or be religious to do this, just a simple 5 or 10 seconds thinking of how lucky your are to have a meal and the nutrition that it provides for your body and mind.

3. Get to know your salad dressing!  No….not build a relationship with it, but merely just be aware of what’s in it. Many dressings have high calorie, fat and sugar content. Go with simple vinegar based. Maybe it doesn’t taste as good as the mound of ranch that you would normally put on it, but hey……what’s the point of eating a salad then. Might just as well have a cheeseburger, fries and your ranch with that.

4. “The whiter the bread, the wider the spread, the sooner I’m dead! Have some color in the bread!”
Wayne Pickering said that and quite frankly I don’t know who he is, but I couldn’t have put it better. White bread…NO NO!! Eat wholegrain and wheat breads. Most foods that are white like bread, rice and sugar are significantly less nutritious after being milled and processed. Eat whole wheat and multigrain for one month and likely you will get used to it.

5. Absolutely NO exercise when you are sick and especially when you have a fever. Your body needs all the time it can get to go through the healing process. It needs the energy to heal itself. There are NO benefits to exercising when you are sick and will even likely slow down the recovery process! SOOOO many times in my tenure as a health professional have I heard people say things like “I just have to sweat it out” or “I’m just going to burn it off”. This is just ignorant and foolish. If you really care about your body then let it rest.

Asking yourself questions is a really good and effective way of coming up with answers and direction. If you ask yourself questions like ” what can I do better to improve my healh?” You will likely fing that you will get some answers from within.

As the answers come to you, be sure to write them down in a journal, become aware of them and figure out how you can incorporate it in to your daily life.

This is a method used by many top motivational speakers like Anthony Robbins and other teachers, counselors, etc. in different industries.

This is one of the techniques that I have used with my clients for over 10 years and have had consistent and amazing results. I talk about this in detail in my most recent book. Get the download version of my book by clicking here and asking me for your FREE copy!

In closing here is tip to make this process really effective. When you go to bed at night, ask yourself whatever questions you want based on what areas of your life that you want to change. Ask yourself “have I done my best to ____________? What can I do better tomorrow?”

Write down whatever thoughts that come to you and read them aloud. When you rise in the morning read them again and start your day with the intention of being better at whatever it is that you want to be better at.

I am declaring this day a day for change. Because you can only grow and become better by becoming aware of what you want and having the willingness to change.

So, here is what I propose to you as the reader. Take 5 seconds and think about what area of your health and overall wellbeing that you would like to change. Quickly tell yourself “I am committed to do whatever it takes to make this my reality”.

Now that you have made that commitment to yourself, make it to someone else. Call or email a friend and share your commitment with them and ask them to hold you accountable. This works so put your pride and your ego aside an do it.

If you are already whining and complaining in your mind right now….it’s NEVER going to work. Accept responsibility for your life and just fricken do it!

Your thoughts can hold you back, so let’s see if we can help with that eh? Many times when we want to do something this little voice steps in and tells us something non supportive of who we want to be. Here are a few common things that I hear……….

1. Working out is so hard

2. It hurts
3. I don’t have enough time
4. I don’t have enough money
5. I’m not ready
6. I’ll do it tomorrow or next week or next month or I’ll make it my new years resolution.
7. I don’t know how
8. I feel uncomfortable
9. I’m tired
10. I’m sore
11. I eat good most of the time
12. Something is better than nothing
13. What if, what if, what if
14. But, but, but, but, but

This is a short list of non supportive things that people tell themselves. Surely you can identify. The key is to replace these negative thoughts with supportive thoughts. Here are some that may help. Put your hand on your chest, say them out loud and feel the vibration and energy. Notice the difference in the way you feel when saying these things in comparison to the non supportive things listed above. I know it sounds corny, but just do it. It works.

13. I WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SUCCEED IN HEALTH!

There are 2 reason why people usually don’t get what they want.

1. They don’t know what they want.
2. They don’t know why they want it.

“We can change our lives. We can do, have and be exactly what we wish.”

-Anthony Robbins

That wish must be stronger than your fear. Your why must be big enough for you to act in spite of fear, doubt or worry! You are worthy of better health, except it, embrace it and enjoy it NOW!

3 things that will help you achieve any goal!

1. Clarity of exactly what it is that you want.
2. A commitment to yourself and someone else to make this your reality. NO EXCUSES!
3. Setting specific goals for what you want to achieve!
4. Develop a plan of attack to achieve those goals!
5. Taking consistent action towards that goal!
