As you may be aware there is a Health Crisis in America. My challenge for you is to make a difference. Be part of the solution. You are reading this for a reason. There are no accidents! You can make a difference in the world if you choose to.
The solution to the Health Crisis in America is YOU! It’s start with each of us on an individual level first. When each of us start making better choices when it comes to the food that we put in our body to our daily exercise habits, then it starts to effect people around us. If you choose to be healthier, it’s likely others around you will do the same. In fact I want you to take it a step further, encourage them! People need encouragement sometimes.
Attitudes are contagious. Are yours worth catching? ~Dennis and Wendy Mannering
Share with them what you learn about healthy living so that they will have some knowledge of it. Knowledge is power. Maybe they are not ready to take the next step yet, but when they are they will have a little bit of knowledge that they learned from you!
We as a country need to stop blaming others for our lack of discipline and bad choices. I have read about 10 different cases of people suing fast food restaurants and other food related companies blaming them for the obesity epidemic. This really saddens me. Nothing will change until we start taking responsibility for our own health. Nobody is going to make us eat good or eat bad, it’s up to us. We are setting an example for a whole new generation coming up behind us, make it a good one. We leave a path behind us in our lives that people will follow whether you believe it or not! “What kind of path are you leaving?”
I challenge you to take responsibility for your own Health. Be accountable. People are watching you! Leave a good impression!
There is so much information at our finger tips with the internet and most of it is FREE! If you want to be healthier, then make the choice and do something about it. Don’t wait until you are facing some kind of health crisis to make a change. Yes, at some point it will cost you a little money to seek professional help. You should be saving money on junk food, coffees, sodas and eating out that you can put towards some professional assistance. There is always a way if you are willing. It’s all up to you. How important is your health to you, that’s the question.
I offer FREE guidance via my ask page. Take advantage of it. I am not some self proclaimed health and fitness expert, I have dedicated my life to learning and growing so that I may be of service to others and help them achieve success in health. So, with that being said……If you are ready to make a change, then am willing to help. JUST ASK!

I share your enthusiasm. People should stop blaming others and take a good long hard look in the mirror, appraise themeselves, and get off their backsides for a bit of exercise.
You are correct in what you mention about the free information, but most of the free stuff is available on the web in the way of blogs such as this blog, seeking advice on the internet is great of you have the inner drive to implement the advice, in many cases they will read it and then login to facebook to talk about reading it without ever actually doing an exercise.
Sadly, I don’t believe the internet is going to make a difference to the obesity pandemic of the western world, not just the USA, but more likely add to it.
and you are correct about people not applying what they learn. That’s why I started a coaching service. Having been a Professional in the field for over 12 years now….the biggest problem I see people faced with is accountability and continued guidance.
It’s easy to read something and understand it, but to apply it in your own life is another thing.
Coaching (by true professionals) has been a far superior method to achieving optimal health for people.

Professional coaching is great for people with disposable income but what can we suggest for those that can not afford such services? Obesity is a classless disease after all.
Daniel, you are correct. Obesity and the health crisis in America is classless. It effects people everywhere from all different cultural backgrounds and classes.
Coaching doesn’t have to be expensive. For instance, I run several different programs that offer coaching in a group setting which offers a very unique experience and helps save money and or ecoaching as low as $25 per month.
Also, what I do is teach people how to save money in the day to day on foods and such that they shouldn’t be eating anyway, so that they can afford more hands on coaching, fitness and nutrition programs.
I always recommend to start with what you can afford. The money is usually there, but when we look at our spending habits…..it’s no wonder that we can’t afford professional assistance.
Coaching doesn’t have to be expensive and you certainly don’t need disposable income.
I have a saying that I like “Those who have a hard time finding money to take care of there health, will sooner or later have to find the money to take care of their illnesses.”
I’ll leave you with this….usually money is the first excuse that people make and that’s exactly what it is….an excuse. If a person is in need of some professional assistance with their health, then it’s up to them to figure out how to pay for it. I can show anyone how to save $20 per month in about 5 minutes. I can teach you how to save hundreds if you give me the time.
I hope this helps answer you question. Be well.
Pat
I agree that coaching doesn’t have to be expensive and like you say $25 is a small price to pay. But, like many things in life, money is relative. When I mentioned that obesity is a classless disease I was inferring that, in the UK, a large percentage of the obese population are among the poorest people. When I say poor I mean very poor. There are huge financial divides in the UK and I’m sure there is a similar scenario in the US. However small an amount $25 seems to you and I, as we type from our laptops using wireless internet in our nice heated homes, some people are surviving on as little as £115 per week where as others have much less. When you have a little amount of money as this is is very difficult to find money for food, electricity, and clothes let alone coaching.
I fully understand your opinions regarding people with money whom decide to spend it on other things like, like Itunes or whatever, but there is an underclass in each western society that have to make do with passed down clothes, cheap mass produced foods, and little hope for the future. This is where no amount of ecoaching, blog articles, or group sessions are going to make any sort of impact.
I hope you can see my point of view.
p.s. “Those who have a hard time finding money to take care of their health, will sooner or later have to find the money to take care of their illnesses.” - very true

Daniel - Surely I understand where you are coming from. You are right, in some cases people have little choice and especially when poverty stricken as you have mentioned.
I have been working on a non profit program to help deliver to those less fortunate. It seems as though when we think about feeding the poor that we don’t really think about their health and as a society just give them whatever inexpensive food that we can.
This is a difficult thing to do and is something that I have been aware of. I like to find people interested in helping those less fortunate and share ideas…..perhaps you?
Awesome! I think most people take their time for granted and don’t put enough effort into the betterment of themselves. My wife and I own a restaurant, and I now know that free time should never be taken for granted. Any free time we have, we use to take care of ourselves physically and emotionally. Thanks again!
